The Hannah Grimes Center invites the community to view the paintings of local Jaffrey artist Ed Merrell. Merrell paints in oils in a realistic manner and finds inspiration in the environment of the Monadnock region. Merrell will host an opening on Thursday, September 27 from 5:00p.m.until 7:00p.m at the Hannah Grimes Center located at 25 Roxbury St., Suite C, Keene.
Merrell has studied under Beda Zel Angle in NJ in classic fashion. He has also studied with Alex Farquarson and Mary Iselin at the Sharon Arts Center for several years. Merrell has exhibited at the Keene Art Association at the Colony Mill Marketplace, Sharon Arts Gallery, Peterborough and Jaffrey Community Centers and the Jaffrey Library.
The opening will feature a reception with the artist. Appetizers, wine, and other refreshments will be provided for guests. Merrell’s show will be on display at the Hannah Grimes Center in September and October. It features a collection of oil paintings created in a realistic manner incorporating the beauty of the Monadnock region.
