Community Connections for Afterschool Networking (CCAN) has maintained offices at Hannah Grimes since 2011. As CCAN builds its capacity and strengthens its staff, they are moving to the C Suite of the Center for Entrepreneurship here at 25 Roxbury Street to take full advantage of the shared learning and networking opportunities available at the Center.
The Hannah Grimes Center has begun a process to more freely integrate our for-profit businesses and our non-profit organizations in our shared work environment. We believe bringing all organizational types into the mix enriches our supportive and educational environment for entrepreneurial organizations and enhances community wealth building.
CCAN (www.ccannh.com) is a nonprofit organization that provides leadership to strengthen the quality and accessibility of local out-of-school-time programs, so that all youth will become responsible citizens ready for school, work, and life. CCAN existed for several years as an informal coalition of afterschool professionals who met regularly to network and collaborate on professional training activities. It was formally organized in 2010, and incorporated as a New Hampshire nonprofit corporation in March 2011.
CCAN’s board chairperson is Maryanne Keating, Cheshire County HEAL Program Coordinator (developing and implementing Worksite Wellness initiatives in the Monadnock Region). The organization is staffed by program assistant Jean Lepisto. Jean earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Keene State College and brings nearly a decade of valuable experience to CCAN, having previously worked as Community Health Coordinator at Cheshire Medical Center.
You’ll find CCAN in Suite C 117 at 25 Roxbury Street. Stop by and say hi. Volunteers for their worthwhile programs are always welcome!
