You’re invited to join us at CONNECT 2014 for a lively exploration of what it means to be an “agile” business, an agile community, and why it’s important to build an agile local economy. Connect will be held on Wednesday, October 29th, 5:00 – 8:00 pm, at Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole.
CONNECT is Hannah Grimes’ annual celebration of the vital connections between business, the local economy and our community. CONNECT is a networking event: a place to share your expertise and learn from others.
Help us examine “agile” local businesses, economies and communities.
Our region has reaped the benefits of a diverse local economy. We’ve been responsive to economic change over the past several years, and we can take pride in our reaction to shifting winds and changing currents. As the complexity, global scope, and rate of change increases, however, we need to do more than respond.
Our local economic and civic culture needs to be alert to trends, forces and policies affecting our businesses, organizations and community. We need to anticipate their meaning and innovate to create opportunity. That’s the difference between being agile and being responsive. It’s important to build agility as a mindset and build the capacity to be agile in our businesses and our community.
This year, we’ll enjoy a keynote address from Don Byrne, Senior Fellow, Stephenson Disaster Management Institute, at Louisiana State University and President and CEO of Metrix411. An entrepreneur and former venture capitalist, Don brings an executive perspective to the fields of strategic management, continuity planning, and business operations. Don is recognized as a national expert on enterprise risk management, community resiliency, and business agility.
Everyone is invited for an evening filled with good company, delicious food and exceptional networking. Bring lots of business cards to make CONNECTions with colleagues and community members.
CONNECT 2014 is sure to be an enjoyable, thought-provoking evening of discussion and sharing. We look forward to seeing you there. Click here to register now!
