Recently completed renovations at the Hannah Grimes Center's 25 Roxbury Street building have tripled the size of its Business Incubator Program from 5 to 15 incubating offices. It has also created a new home for the Hannah Grimes Center.
"Construction of a new main floor creates a beautiful and extremely functional office space ideally suited for start-ups and small businesses that are ready to grow," said Mary Ann Kristiansen, Executive Director.
The offices include access to educational and business development programming, and critical support services such as high-speed internet – wired and wireless; secure 24/7 access to offices; a multi-media conference room; kitchenette and shower facilities; and a networked multi-function color copier/fax.
"Peer networking is an important aspect of a business incubator space," added Kristiansen. "Entrepreneurs often feel isolated. We help entrepreneurs engage, energize, and connect which increases their opportunities for success." Studies show that small businesses have a significantly higher success rate when they locate in a business incubator space.
Convenient to downtown, the new front entrance is located off of Church Street. Program cost depends on the office size selected, but everything in the program is included in one simple price.
Hannah Grimes' former space on the Roxbury street side of the building now houses the Hannah Grimes Center for Nonprofits. The Center for Nonprofits offers the same advantages as the Business Incubator Program, but is especially adapted to fit the needs of nonprofit organizations. Like their for-profit counterparts, these organizations find access to small office space and peer networking is vitally important.
Renovations were funded with strong community support. The architect is Dan Bartlett, a Hannah Grimes Business Incubator Program graduate. Construction was completed by Keene-based Baybutt Construction.
Office space in both the entrepreneurial Business Incubator Program and the Center for Nonprofits is still available. For more information call or email Donna Weldon, (603) 352-5063, donna@hannahgimes.com.
