The Hannah Grimes Center announced that Roy Matheson, owner of Roy Matheson & Associates, has been named our Entrepreneur of the Year for the Monadnock Region. Matheson will be presented with the Entrepreneur of the Year award and recognized at Hannah Grimes' upcoming CONNECT 2011 Event, October 12, 2011, at Alyson's Orchard in Walpole.
"Roy has built a vibrant business based in Keene and been an active and engaged leader in the community," said Mary Ann Kristiansen, Executive Director of the Hannah Grimes Center. "Roy's commitment to business success, his amazing generosity and community involvement makes him a wonderful choice for our annual Entrepreneur of the Year award."
Roy Matheson & Associates is an established family-run company that provides training and support for allied health professionals and safety professionals who desire to become "thinking evaluators" in the areas of functional capacity evaluation, ergonomic evaluation and post-offer, pre-placement testing. Working with his brother, Dr. Leonard Matheson, Roy was a pioneer in the development of work evaluation training. His recent entrepreneurial efforts include the Matheson WorkSafe online software as a service ergonomic case management system.
Matheson describes his life's calling as "stretching people to learn." Matheson is also a graduate of Hannah Grimes' Entrepreneur Project and participates in the Hannah Grimes Leadership Circle.
Matheson will receive the Entrepreneur of the Year award at CONNECT 2011, which will also feature Michael Shuman, one of the nation's leading experts on community economics and author of The Small-Mart Revolution: How Local Businesses Are Beating the Global Competition. The event will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from 5:00 through 7:30 p.m., at Alyson's Orchard in Walpole, NH. Everyone is welcome.
